Thank you to everyone who entered the 2012 Meridian Editors’ Prize contest. We received an unprecedented number of submissions and had wonderful work to read on both the fiction and poetry sides. After much deliberation, we have made the following sections:

A former Meridian contributor, Allison Seay, has just gotten the news that her first book of poems, To See the Queen, has won Persea Books’ Lexi Rudnitsky Poetry Prize and will be published in April 2013.

The new editors have been selected for next year. Juliana Daugherty will serve as Editor in Chief, Alexis Schaitkin as Fiction Editor, and Marielle Prince as Poetry Editor. I hope you have enjoyed the 2011 issues and will continue to support Meridian and to send your work our way.

We are now accepting entries for the 2011 Editors’ Prize Contests in Fiction and Poetry. Deadline December 17, 2010.
Contest details:
$16 entry fee includes a one-year subscription to Meridian. (Entries from outside the U.S. will receive only the prize issue due to additional mailing costs.)
$1,000 prize awarded to winners of both genres.
